In their first DiceSport tournament, Aspley Guise have been confirmed as winners of the 2021 Wolf Cricket Easter T10 after a seven-wicket win over Kingston Bagpuize in the final.
​
Kingston Bagpuize came out of the blocks quickly, as they hit 42 from the opening three overs, but J Smith was caught by Dave Evans off Conor Lynch (1-5) for 12, before D Warner was caught by Lynch off Matt Funge (1-9) for 13.
​
S Launder made a fine 31, but he and W Woodley (15) both fell to Calam Lynch (2-5) in the eighth over - Colin Hudson and Ben Savage with the catches.
​
S Lewis and T Ricks finished on 13* and 15* respectively as Kingston Bagpuize ended on 106-4 from their ten overs.
​
J Warner (1-6) struck early in the reply as David Quick was caught by G Woodley for 1, but a 39-run partnership between Ben Savage and Calam Lynch took Aspley Guise to 53-2 at the halfway stage, Lynch caught by W Woodley off Ricks (1-4) for 11.
​
Savage followed by hitting 23 from his next seven deliveries, bringing up an incredible fourth half-century of the tournament, but he was then caught by Ricks off W Woodley (1-17) for 58.
​
Robert Harrison (21*) and Craig Danks (9*) then saw Aspley Guise home, their side winning by seven wickets with seven deliveries remaining.

Cowes qualify for Champions League
Cowes are the seventh club confirmed for the 2021 Wolf Cricket Champions League after defeating Ledbury in the 3rd/4th place play-off of the Wolf Cricket Easter T10.
​
Batting first, Cowes made a poor start as both openers were back in the hut after two overs. Jack Summers was caught by Tom Hill of the bowling of Vicky Evans for 6, before captain Josh Rice was run out by Tom Willis for 18.
​
Justin Pinder hit 31 before he was bowled by Josh Evans (1-11), with Jason Heap (22*) and Jamie Rice (25*) getting Cowes up to a respectable 106-3.
​
Josh Jones (1-10) struck in the opening over as he caught Willis (9) off his own bowling, but fellow opener Josh Emery was in great touch and was scoring freely. Owen Collingbourne, however, struggled for runs, with the required run rate growing and growing.
​
Collingbourne was eventually caught by Jason Heap off the bowling of Jack Summers (1-7) for 9, and despite the best efforts of Emery, who finished on an unbeaten 66 from 36 deliveries, Ledbury ended 13 runs short on 93-2.
​
Victory confirms Cowes' place in the 2021 Wolf Cricket Champions League - Ledbury have to settle for 5 Qualification Points - they are now confirmed at least a place in November's Qualifiers.

Kingston Bagpuize into Easter T10 Final
After ending the Wolf Cricket Leagues with the Wooden Spoon, Kingston Bagpuize are just one game from a remarkable turnaround after defeating Ledbury by 24 runs in the Wolf Cricket Easter T10 semi-finals.
​
It looked like being Ledbury's day early on - Seb Fell took 2-2, with wickets also for Chris Dandy (1-13) and Rhys Gunter (1-17) as Kingston Bagpuize slumped to 13-3, and later 43-4 after four overs, J Smith (3), S Launder (7) and W Woodley (1) falling for single figures, with S Lewis hitting a breezy 26.
​
However, a vital partnership between D Warner (42*) and T Ricks (41*) saw Kingston Bagpuize post 126-4 from their 10 overs, a total that looked to be about par.
​
G Woodley (1-10) then removed Tom Willis for 3 in the opening over of the run chase, before J Warner (1-3) accounted for in-form Owen Collingbourne for 6 as Ledbury slipped to 13-2.
​
Josh Emery and Gordon Wint gave Ledbury some hope, but when Wint went to D Warner for 29 and Emery to Launder for 45, a Kingston Bagpuize victory looked inevitable.
​
Josh Evans managed 11* in the latter stages, with Brandon Caffull adding 7*, but Ledbury finished on 102-4, Kingston Bagpuize winning by 24 runs to seal their place in the final.



Aspley Guise reach Wolf Cricket Easter T10 Final
In their debut DiceSport tournament, Aspley Guise have reached the final of the Wolf Cricket Easter T10 after defeating Cowes by ten wickets in the semi-finals.
​
Fielding first, Dave Evans (1-7) made an early breakthrough for Aspley Guise as Jack Summers was caught behind by Colin Hudson for 7.
​
A decent partnership followed, but Josh Rice (33) was also caught by Hudson, Matt Funge (1-12) the bowler, before Justin Pinder (27) fell shortly after, run out by Craig Danks. Jason Heap then fell for just 7 as he was bowled by Calam Lynch (1-17) to leave Cowes 78-4 in the 8th over.
​
Jamie Rice (16*) and Scott Rice (11*) took 33 from the final three overs as Cowes posted 111-4.
​
The Aspley Guise run chase got off to the perfect start as Ben Savage unleashed on a helpless Josh Jones, 23 runs coming from the opening over.
​
The partnership between Savage and David Quick passed fifty in the fourth over, and went into three figures in a sensational seventh over, as Quick hit three consecutive fours followed by back-to-back sixes to bring up his fifty.
​
Savage ended on 44*, with Quick hitting 53* - the pair seeing Aspley Guise to a ten-wicket victory for the second time in the tournament.



SEMI-FINAL DRAW

Ledbury have completed the line-up for the Wolf Cricket Easter T10 with a comprehensive victory over Kippax Welfare.
​
Rhys Gunter took 2-1, and Brandon Caffull 2-6 as Kippax Welfare were bowled out for just 70, Imran Pandor top-scoring with 17.
​
John Henshaw and Tony Downes both took 1-6 in reply, but Owen Collingbourne made sure of the result, with a brilliant 55* off just 25 balls, Ledbury winning by 8 wickets after 6.2 overs.



In their first DiceSport tournament, Aspley Guise are into the semi-finals of the Wolf Cricket Easter T10.
​
Ben Savage hit 55, with Calam Lynch adding 30 as Aspley Guise posted 129-6, Colin Hudson (35*) hitting 26 from the final over, Ben Taylor taking 2-3 for Creigiau, and Lloyd John 2-9.
​
In reply, Creigiau didn't lose a wicket as Jarred Davies hit 68* and Lloyd John 55*, but they fell just three runs short on 126-0, Matt Funge's over going for just 2 runs.



Cowes are into their first DiceSport semi-final after a 5-wicket win over Lichfield Nomads in the Wolf Cricket Easter T10.
Luke Turnbull made 37, with Matt Barker adding 29, but some great death bowling from Cowes, in particular Jack Summers (3-4), kept Lichfield Nomads to 104-6.
With the score at 48-3 after five overs of the run chase, a tight finish looked inevitable, until a fabulous innings of 28* off 14 balls from Jason Heap saw Cowes to victory with seven balls to spare.



Kingston Bagpuize are the first team into the Wolf Cricket Easter T10 Semi-Finals after a 3-wicket win over Walkden.
​
G Woodley (3-6) took a hat-trick in the opening over of the game, before D Warner (2-6) and A Verdin (2-10) helped to bowl Walkden out for 98, C Jones top-scoring with 29.
​
Warner then made 28 in reply, but 3-3 from L Wilson set up an interesting finale.
​
Kingston Bagpuize, however, held their nerve and sealed victory by 3 wickets with 3 balls remaining.

Aspley Guise hit the highest run chase of the Wolf Cricket Easter T10 as they completed the quarter-final line-up.

A Dixon smashed 48 from 16 balls in a Spondon total of 139-6, A Brear adding 25, with Calam Lynch taking 2-13.
​
An opening partnership of 58 between Ben Savage (53) and David Quick (25) set up a thrilling finish - Robert Harrison (41*) hitting the final ball for four to seal a seven-wicket win, A Harrison taking 1-1.



Kippax Welfare secured their place in the last eight of the Wolf Cricket Easter T10 with an eight-wicket win over Carnforth.
​
Mark Holmes hit a wonderful 81* from 33 balls (the second highest individual score of the tournament) as Carnforth posted 132-4, Steve Henshaw taking 1-6.
​
Imran Pandor (19) and Hannah Taylor (39) started the run chase well for Kippax Welfare, before Malcolm Parker (23*) and Peter Prince (50*) saw them home after 8.4 overs, Tom Parkinson 1-9.






Lichfield Nomads stormed into the Quarter-Finals of the Wolf Cricket Easter T10 with an eight-wicket thrashing of Wickersley Old Village.
​
Jimmy Melia top-scored with 19, with number 11 Kev Roe adding 18*, but Wickersley Old Village could only muster 81, with Jimmy Cogzell, Dan Lee and Dan Brannigan taking two wickets each.
​
Matt Barker (24), Dan Moss (22*) and Marc Hutton (22) helped to see Lichfield Nomads to victory, winning by 8 wickets after just 5.3 overs.
Kingston Bagpuize made it through to the Wolf Cricket Easter T10 Quarter-Finals with a five-wicket win over Peopleton.
A great over from T Ricks (3-6) helped reduce Peopleton to 30-6, Andy Cameron (20) top-scoring as Peopleton scrambled to 87-9.

Kingston Bagpuize slipped to 22-3 in reply, but 28* from S Lewis helped them to a five wicket victory in the eighth over.






Gordon Wint made 23 as Ledbury posted 101-7 against Abergavenny, Sam Clarke the pick of the bowlers, with 1-6.
​
David Clarke made 32* in reply, with James Francis adding 25, but tight bowling from Tom Hill (1-2) and Josh Emery (1-3) helped Ledbury secure their Quarter-Final place, winning by 14 runs with Abergavenny ending on 87-5.
A quickfire 30 off just 12 balls from Julion Jayerajah helped Ryde to post 97-3 from their 10 overs, O Gaskill taking 1-5.

With the scores on 58-3 after 6 overs in the chase, it was down to J Duffy (36*) to see Walkden home by seven wickets and an over to spare, qualifying for the Quarter-Finals in their first DiceSport tournament.






Cowes are through to the Wolf Cricket Easter T10 Quarter-Finals after a tight 7-run win over 2020 Champions League winners, Andoversford.
​
Josh Rice hit 41 at the top of the order, with Justin Pinder adding 22 as Cowes posted 108-3, Max Owen taking 1-6.
​
Owen then made 32 in Andoversford's chase, with Rob Cerrone adding 30*, but Kayton Barton took 1-5 and Josh Jones 1-6 as Andoversford ended just short on 101-4.
Creigiau are the first team into the Wolf Cricket Easter T10 Quarter-Finals after a five-wicket win over Hazel Grove.
​
Rhodri Jones took 2-7 in the opening over, but Hazel Grove were boosted by Mark Clayton (29) and Mark Baker (20) as they reached 116-6.
An incredible run chase, however, saw Creigiau reach 80-2 after just four overs, Lloyd John smashing 43 from only 12 balls.
Geraint Cutlan then added 27* from 10 balls as Creigiau reached their target after just 7 overs, the only unbeaten side left in the competition safely into the last eight.



Stats from the Group Stage

J Wilson of Walkden scored the most runs in the group stage, with 155 at an average of 77.50

Alex Moore of Creigiau with 14 behind, hitting his 141 runs at a strike rate of 266.04, whilst Walton Le Dale's centurion Scott Newton had an incredible strike rate of 282.98.
​
The Apsley Guise duo of Ben Savage and David Quick made up the top five, the latter averaging 121.00.
Kingston Bagpuize's D Warner topped the wicket-taking list, with 6 wickets for just 19 runs.
​
Jamie Rice of Cowes and Ryde's Sam Rockley were just one behind, on five wickets each.


Colin Hudson of Aspley Guise had a great group stage behind the stumps, with seven catches and a stumping.
​
Carsons & Mangotsfield's T King was two behind him with five catches and a stumping.
​
Daryl Ames of Mayfield was the best non-wicket-keeper, with four catches and a run out.

Creigiau eased through Group A, with three wins from three, with Kippax Welfare qualifying in second with two wins.
​
Talybont-on-Usk were knocked out after one victory, whilst it was an early exit for Wolf Cricket Premier League winners, Rockingham Colliery.

In a group with three debutants, Walkden and Spondon went through to the knockouts in their first DiceSport tournaments.
​
The returning Moccas finished in third place, whilst Newton Heath's first competition saw them finish bottom of Group C.

In Group E, it was Kingston Bagpuize and Hazel Grove who won their deciding final fixtures to make the knockout stages.
​
Walton Le Dale and Gregson were the sides to miss out, with one win from their three games.

In a dramatic Group G, it was Carnforth and Cowes who headed through to the knockout stages.
​
Despite winning their opening two games, a heavy defeat against Carnforth saw Carsons & Mangotsfield knocked out on Net Run Rate.
​
It was a tournament to forget for Trent Bridge Cricket Team.
​

Andoversford won Group B after winning their opening two games of the competition, whilst Peopleton secured their place by beating the group winners in their final game.
​
Martley and Island Bakeries missed out on the knockouts with one win each.

Ledbury and Wickersley Old Village had Net Run Rate to thank as they secured their place in the knockout stages.
​
Longdon were the unfortunate side to miss out, despite their two wins from three games, whilst Trent Valley's first DiceSport tournament ended in three defeats.

Lichfield Nomads won their opening two games to secure a knockout spot in their debut DiceSport tournament, with Ryde winning their final game to join them.
​
Fulwood & Broughton and Offerton missed out with a win apiece.

In Group H, Aspley Guise and Abergavenny won their final group games to head through to the knockout stages.

Mayfield and Armitage missed out on the Last 16 after defeats in their last group games.
